Force Driver Failover

Post by ajSyn12 »

Hi

With our WInCCOA project we have a Modbus redundant connection that we use, that connects to two separate Modbus Gateways that then communicates to a common end device. The Modbus driver currently will show disconnection states if it loses communication to either of the Modbus gateways and they will fail over if necessary, which is working as expected.

The current problem we have, is if one of the Modbus gateways loses communication to the end device we can monitor a Modbus register in the gateway to tell us it's lost its heartbeat to the respective end device, but we will need our system to fail over to the other gateway connection.

The question I would like to ask, is if there is a way in WinCCOA via control (ctrl) scripts to force a failover of redundant PLC connection on the modbus driver ?
