Oracle database copy to new SID

Post by tmalone »

I am using APM 3.15 so we have 2 oracle servers with replication. The database is corrupted on one of the servers and will no longer start the instance.

If I just delete and re-install the oracle instance on one server, it will not work because the sequence numbers will not be synchronized. I was hoping to use some sort of copy method to copy the database from the server that is working but because it is on a different server, the SID must be different.

Can someone point me in a direction such that I don't have to delete both databases to get the numbers to synchronize. Or is there a way to get the databases in the same state after creating them?
