3.18 P012: OS Auth login failure on Linux

Post by emaddocks »

Hi,

We're upgrading to WinCC OA v3.18 P012 from P004 on RHEL 8.2.

It seems that something was changed in P011 that may have broken the OS Auth functionality.

Extract from the P011 Readme:

143095/1-6607547751: The verifyOSUser CTRL function does not check the
account validity on Linux.

146809/1-4516245412: The function verifyOSUser() does not return an
error when the AD-server can not be reached.

If we debug the output of this verifyOSUser function we now get -1 however previously this returned 0. This leads to a "Workstation is not able to reach required server for authentication" dialog when trying to login.

Are there additional configuration steps to get OS Auth to work on Linux now that P011 has changed the verifyOSUser function?

Cheers
Eric
