This event in Zurich drew a large crowd! Altogether, 185 customers and partners were at this year's WinCC OA User Days from June 21st to 22nd.
A thrilling program was offered to each of the participants. On the first day, talks from the ETM management and Siemens Switzerland Industry sector, as well as the WinCC Open Architecture sales and development managers gave a lecture on current and future product features. The WinCC OA product manager unveiled the amazing host of new features in WinCC Open Architecture V3.11.
Afterwards several international partners presented their specific solutions and projects with WinCC OA. The Swiss WinCC OA Premium Solution Partner, VISCOM Engineering AG, gave an impressive demonstration of the advantages of WinCC OA for building management systems and data centers using some of its own projects as examples. Rittmeyer AG, a WinCC OA OEM partner, introduced its RITOP and iRITOP systems, which are based on WinCC OA and have seen worldwide success in their use in the water and energy supply, hydroelectricity supply, process engineering and environmental technology sectors. A Norwegian solution partner, Norcon Engineering AS, presented WinCC OA solutions large and small from the water, waste water, oil production and traffic monitoring industries. A Siemens colleague from Colombia exhibited a WinCC OA water supply project that was recently carried out for BogotŠ. The day concluded with the Italian premium solution partner ID&A, which demonstrated its special WinCC OA solution for water, waste water and gas applications.
After a day packed with information and an exchange of ideas, the participants then took the train to Uetliberg, a local mountain overlooking Zurich. This was an opportunity to network over a cozy evening meal and experience exciting mountain weather.
On the second day, the participants could customize their own program by choosing from five different workshops and two different reference visits.
Among other things, there was the opportunity to compare notes on the new features and discuss new specifications of WinCC OA with the heads of development and product management. Security in SCADA was a very popular topic. Participants focusing on building control were able to obtain the latest information at the "BACnet Integration in WinCC OA" workshop. Everyone enjoyed seeing the UltraLight client for the first time connected to iPad and Android devices.
After two days, the successful WinCC OA User Days 2012 in Zurich drew to a close. Many participants were excited to find out where the User Days 2013 would take place. However, we shall keep the surprise under our hats for now, with the initial planning stages already underway.
