A look back at Hannover Messe 2013 – Integrated Industry

HANNOVER MESSE 2013 drew to a successful close. Over the past several days, the world's leading trade fair for industrial technology has underscored its role as a key driver of the fourth industrial revolution.

This year’s Hannover Messe took place from 8 to 12 April under the theme Integrated Industry”. The world’s biggest industry trade fair showcased current trends and solutions on how to improve profitability. With a total of about 225,000 attendees, one in every four visitors came from abroad, Hannover Messe 2013 matched its strong performance of 2011. As the strongest HANNOVER MESSE in the past 10 years, it fully met the high expectations placed on it by industry, further consolidating its position as the world's premium showcase for industrial technology. HANNOVER MESSE also confirmed its pivotal role as an international hub for economic policy.

The extensive possibilities of the Scada system SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture, part of the SIMATIC HMI portfolio, was presented through a demo application at the Siemens booth. Trade visitors were able to obtain advice from Scada experts and gather information on the countless functionalities and latest developments. Alongside the version 3.11, the new iOA app was also on show. This app allows users the convenience of monitoring and controlling their facilities directly from their iPhone.

Visitors to the leading wind generation technology trade fair Wind showed great interest in the new wind power plant service portal from Siemens. The portal was developed on the basis of SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture and is designed to facilitate wind farm and wind power plant management. The portal was demonstrated on a Live-Demo Control Center.
