Kick-off for PVSS 3.7 at SPS in Nuremberg

The the leading European fair SPS/IPC/DRIVES is still the absolute highlight in the realm of electrical automation technology. More than 45,900 people visited Nuremberg between November 27th and 29th. ETM used this platform to present the new version of its flagship product PVSS 3.7, which attracted a particularly large number of professionals to the Eisenstadt-based software developer’s stand.

The timing was perfect: just before the fair opened, the final touches were made to the new version 3.7 of the tried and tested process visualisation and management software, PVSS. Its many new features impressed not only its long-term users but potential new customers as well. The performance and flexibility of PVSS were particularly appreciated. ETM’s affiliation with the Siemens Group, starting six months ago, was also a point of interest, as were the first fruits of our co-operation with this major global company. This was one of the reasons why we were visited by so many international business people.

PVSS 3.7 – the new dimension

The technicians working on PVSS v 3.7 put great emphasis on convenience in this phase of development. Functions such as drag & drop in runtime, multi-selection, producing Bezier curves and automatic alignment of objects simplify the management of PVSS for users during project planning, engineering and during operation.

Platform independence has been expanded with the support of the UNIX operating system Solaris X. In addition, it is now also possible to share archive data between Windows, Linux and Solaris operating systems.

The new alarm management system minimises dataflow to a manageable minimum by using appropriate filters in the event of an error – but without deleting or neglecting data. Error messages for external tools can also be processed in PVSS 3.7. Furthermore, greater security and an improved redundancy behaviour have been achieved by using SNMPv3 for integration into the IT world.

Making provisions for people and machines at the ETM stand

“’Prevention is the best cure’ applies to more than just health issues!” was the slogan under which ETM presented the Advanced Maintenance Suite (AMS) for optimal maintenance management of complex systems. The new AMS design considerably reduces costs and increases quality at the same time. This allows efficient planning, management, implementation and checking of maintenance work and trouble-shooting.
