SPS IPC Drives 2013 a resounding success

As the doors closed on the last day of this year’s SPS IPC Drives, its position as the lead show for the electrical automation industry was confirmed once again beyond question. No fewer than 60,027 visitors flocked to find out about the latest trends and developments in the world of electrical automation technology through in-depth technical discussion with the show’s 1,622 exhibitors.

The comprehensive scope offered by SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture was showcased not only at the Siemens booth but also in its exclusive WinCC OA VIP lounge. A particular highlight: The official unveiling of the new functionalities offered by Version 3.12. This release has been available in the marketplace since the end of November.

As in previous years, a number of certified WinCC OA partners made use of this opportunity to present successfully implemented projects involving SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture in the WinCC OA VIP lounge. One of these was WinCC OA Partner Rittmeyer GmbH, presenting its OEM solution named RITOP used in the water and wastewater industry. Accellence Technologies GmbH, the partner for video management, was also in the lounge demonstrating the new video function offered by SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture. Norwegian WinCC OA Solution Partner Norcon presented one of its special traffic management solutions, while OEM Partner Siemens ITS was on hand to explain the “International Tunnel Control Center” ITTC for tunnel and highway projects.
As well as appraising these completed partner solutions, visitors also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new app WinCC OA OPERATOR. WinCC OA OPERATOR offers operators a convenient way to remotely monitor and control their plants using their iPhone.

As in previous years, the lounge proved a popular attraction, allowing visitors to talk to WinCC OA experts about their plants and projects away from the bustle of the show. The WinCC OA team already looks forward to welcoming you again to the SPS IPC Drives 2014.
